This wine is 100% mondeuse from vines between 50 to 70 years in age. Although this is a simplification, Mondeuse is a distant relative of Syrah. This is an exceptional example of Mondeuse with lots of dark cherry fruit and lilacs in the nose and licorice and smoky edges in the mouth. Notes of blackberry, spice, and pepper come through as well. It is unoaked.
