Tasting:The Palisades Vineyard is located in Calistoga in the North east corner of the Napa Valley. The site is in a small canyon that gets a constant breeze moving through the vines. Petite Sirah is very susceptable to botrytis so these breezes keep the fruit dry and healthy. This is a Grand Cru Petite Sirah site! The famous Petite Sirahs from Stags Leap came from this site and they still buy fruit today.

The 2012 Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard, which is still in barrel, reveals peppery, meaty, blackberry and blueberry fruit notes intermixed with a hint of barbecue smoke. The relatively civilized tannins are no doubt attributable to this vintage that has produced such sweet, velvety, fruit-forward wines. Nevertheless, this full-bodied, polished 2012 Petite Sirah is capable of lasting 20 years after its release later this year.
