Charlot's 2009 Brut Cuvée Micheline Charlot-Tanneux 1er Cru is a relatively soft, understated wine for the year. Yellow stone fruit, lightly honeyed notes, dried flowers and mint all grace the palate. This is an especially soft, open-knit style, especially for a vintage in which the wines are often so exuberant. Suggestions of white orchard fruit, flowers, pepper and lemon confit add the closing shades of nuance. The 2009 was fermented and aged in barrel. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: March 2015.
