Here the pretty and ripe nose is composed by notes of red cherry, soft earth and sandalwood nuances. The attractively fresh and vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess fine delineation on the mouth coating, intense and lingering finish where a touch of austerity is evident. This is a bit finer than the Reine Joly yet slightly firmer so some patience will be required.
The 2014 Pimentiers from Guillaume Camus is again, very stylish out of the blocks, with lovely depth of fruit and excellent soil signature, The nose wafts from the glass in a mix of cherries, red plums, red currants, woodsmoke, lovely minerality, gamebirds and just a touch of raw cocoa. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite stony in personality, with a fine core of pure fruit, ripe tannins and fine mineral drive on the long and youthful finish. Good juice in the making here. 2020-2050+.
