This bright red shows juicy cherry and berry flavors, balanced by licorice and leafy notes. Orange peel acidity gives this backbone, while light tannins impart focus. Fresh and lively. Drink now through 2023. 100 cases made. - TM

This smells delightful, with scents of red flowers and red fruits. And it drinks dangerously easily, a lively acidity keeping the wine buoyant, as bright as ripe raspberries. It's ready now to be served chilled by the pool, a sophisticated summer refresher.

(made from bush vines planted in 1923 and 1945; fermented and aged for six months in clay amphoras) Lurid ruby-red. Primary red and dark berry scents, along with a suggestion of pungent flowers. Sappy, mineral-tinged raspberry and bitter cherry flavors deepen slowly and become sweeter as the wine opens up. Nicely weighty but vibrant as well, finishing long and juicy, with repeating red fruit character and silky, harmonious tannins lending gentle grip.

This has to be one of the most limited production wines I have ever had the pleasure to taste, as the folks at Bohigas make all of fifty cases of this wine! It is produced from an old vine parcel of Sumoll principally planted in 1945 (one small section dates back to 1923), which is then fermented and aged in amphora. The vines are bush-trained and the soils here are a combination of clay and limestone, with the vineyard located at four hundred meters, which help keep the octane to an even thirteen percent. The wine offers up a deep and youthfully complex bouquet of black cherries, licorice, woodsmoke, a fine base of soil and a touch of coffee grounds. On the palate the wine is fullish, bright and beautifully transparent, with tangy acids, moderate tannins and lovely focus and grip on the long and complex finish. This is fine juice! 2017-2030+.
