Esola Vineyard (formally know as Sherman's Gold) is located in Amador County and was the source for Ridge's Shenendoah Zinfandel in the 70's and 80's
farmed using organic and biodynamic methods
Half of the grapes were pressed at drynees, while the other half saw 30 days of extended maceration on the skins. Fermented using all native yeasts.

The 2016 Zinfandel Esola Vineyard emerges from a site in Amador County planted in 1968. The Esola offers notable power and intensity in its red cherry and blood orange profile. A hint of reduction from aging in large format oak needs time to blow off. I would give the 2016 a few years in bottle to allow some of the edges to soften. There is more than enough structure to support many years of fine drinking. This is a superb wine from Bedrock.
