Vineyard: The DuPratt Vineyard is located on the far Mendocino Coast and located on a ridge top at 1400 feet in elevation, planted in 1916.
Soil: sandy-clay, loam
Viticulture: Farmed using organic and sustainable methods
Vinification: De-stemmed and cold soaked for 5 days and feremnted using all native yeasts. Pressed on October 17th to French oak barrels.
Aging: Aged in French oak (17% new) for 15 months
Production: 405 cases
Notes: Medium-dark to dark garnet-ruby. A fascinating, complex nose of red cherry, cranberry, pine forest, and orange rind. On the palate, an explosion of red cherry liqueur, briar, and cracked black pepper. Finishes very clean and long with plenty of verve and snap. For a Zinfandel, this will have a long life.
