Vineyard: All estate vineyards around the San Vicente area of Rioja Alta. The grapes used for this wine are from the youngest vines of the estate which average from 15-25 years in age. Those vineyards are named Finca la Veguilla and Finca Valseca.
Orientation: Finca Veguill is at 475 meters in elevation oriented to the North. Finca Valseca is at 525 meters in elevation also oriented to the North.
Soil: Calcareous Clay
Viticulture: Practicing organics and sustainability, all estate owned vineyards, They work in a very natural way. All pruning and harvest is done by hand. Both Finca Veguilla and Valseca are trellised vineyards planted cordon system.
Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and crushed and macerated for 3-4 days before fermentation begins naturally with the wild yeast on the skins. Fermentation then continues for 10-12 days more.
Aging: Aged in stainless steel with racking to another tank at 6 months. No oak aging. The wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. They are also not cold stabalized.

Some nutty, savory and mushroomy nuances with gently sappy cassis and mulberry fruits. The palate is tangy, supple and smoothly rendered with blueberry fruits. Good balance. Drink Now.
