Shea Vineyards-a three-acre, mid-slope east block of eleven-year-old Dijon clone 777 Pinot noir.
Sedimentary soil over fractured sandstone
Small-lot wild yeast fermentations
100% barrel aged for 19 months in French oak barrels (one new, three neutral). Bottled unfined and unfiltered
(aged in one- and three-year-old French oak barrels) Limpid ruby-red. A sexy, highly perfumed bouquet displays ripe red fruit, incense and floral aromas, along with a bright mineral overtone. Juicy and focused on the palate; a jolt of tangy acidity gives spine to densely packed raspberry, boysenberry, lavender pastille and spicecake flavors. Finishes sweet and extremely long, displaying smooth tannins and a return of the floral quality.
