Soil: gravely loam soils
Viticulture: farmed using sustainable methods
Vinification: Hand picked, sorted and whole cluster pressed. Fermented in French oak barrels and aged for 22 months sur lie. The wine was racked, clarified and then bottled in August 1997, until it's release in January 2017
Aging: 12 months in new, French oak barrels. Bottled aged for 20 years!
Production: 56 cases
Notes: A special Cuvée Rare bottling of 1995 Chardonnay from Long Vineyards in Dry Creek that has been designated “Cuvée L.” Cuvée L received "Stealth Cuvee" methods (including two years of sur lies aging and additional bottle development) and is substantially different from the 1993 Cuvee LD Chardonnay (Le Darryl) which was released several years ago. Less than sixty cases of this very special and limited wine were produced. Cuvée L was the original designation of the first Long Vineyard Chardonnay that we produced in 1981, and is dedicated to the Long Family
