Luca is named after Laura’s son. The family crest (the McDermott family) that appears in the label’s background is that of Laura’s husband, Dan. Laura is continually inspired by the synthesis of cultures in her own family, and this international inspiration infuses the style and quality of her wines.
They separate a small plot from the Adrianna vineyard in Gualtallary and produce what they call the 2015 G Lot Chardonnay, a barrel-fermented white with a very Burgundian profile. it has great balance between fruit and spice and a fine, elegant palate where the minerality is pretty obvious. This should age very nicely in bottle. 31,200 bottles produced.
