These characteristics give the wine nuanced complexity and interest. This wine has a wonderful silky, elegant entry that gives way to a fully structured, weighty midpalate revealing it’s Pritchard Hill origin. A luscious finish completes this wine that is great in its youth, but promises much for the future.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a 395-case cuvée from Calistoga’s Kenefick Ranch. This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 75% new French oak for 20 months. Dense purple with notes of creosote, charcoal embers, blackcurrant fruit, licorice and chocolate. It is full-bodied, rich, concentrated and layered. This is a beauty to drink over the next 20 or so years.
Alan Peirson and Robbie Meyer have done a terrific job in coaxing a great deal of finesse from Kenefick Ranch for their 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. Inky blue and purplish fruit give the 2014 its almost primary intensity. Powerful, rich and also surprisingly approachable for the year, the Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine born with impeccable overall balance. This creamy, textured Cabernet Sauvignon will drink nicely with just a few years in bottle.
