Vineyard: Les Blanchais vineyard in the commune of Morogues. Was the estate's first single-vineyard wine, started in the 1980's.
Orientation: Generally North-east facing hillsides, providing a 'cooler' aspect compared to the general "Morogues" bottling.
Soil: Kimmeridgean limestone and silex.
Viticulture: Practicing organic. Soils plowed. Hand-harvested.
Vinification: Fermented with natural yeast. 70% wood, 30% tank.
Aging: Aged in a combo on 70% wood (Foudres and used 400L barrels) and 30% tank for 11 months.
Production: 800 cases
Notes: 2014 was a classic vintage in the eastern loire, with good ripeness, bright acidity, and excellent terroir definition.
