Vineyard: Sourced from new plantings and steep hillside parcels in the Wenzlau estate vineyard
Orientation: Santa Rita Hills-south, ocean facing canyon
Soil: Diatomaceous clay and limestone
Viticulture: Practicing organic
Vinification: Pressed and fermented using 25% whole cluster in stainless steel. Transferred to barrel (30% new).
Aging: 15 months on the lees and then racked to tank for 2 months and aged for a year in bottle
Production: 400 cases
Notes: The ripe, full clusters allowed us the opportunity to work with more stems than the previous vintage, maybe close to 25% in the finished wine. The juiciness of the berries provide great presence of bright red fruit while maintaining a rich flavor profile with nice mid-pallet weight and good structure.
