Vineyards from around the town of Taurasi.
350-400m in elevation.
3,500 plants per hectare. 20-50 year-old vines.
Long maceration in steel for about one month.
Aged eighteen months in tonneau followed by six months in stainless steel and twelve months in the bottle before release.
Deep ruby. Piercing aromas and flavors of violet, dark cherry and herbs. Enters sweet, then turns dusty, displaying building alcohol-derived warmth and peppery tannins. Very serious Taurasi, but does not strike me as being as concentrated as some other past vintages of this wine.
