The 2019 Muri Gries Kretzer is a varietal Lagrein Rosato, and it’s stunning, showing a mix of ripe apple and melon, with a spritz of yellow citrus and smoky florals, gaining richness with time in the glass. On the palate, silky textures are laced with a mix of sweet cherry and spice, with cooling minerals and a buzz of brisk acidity. It finishes with a twang of spicy red berries, yet it’s still sweet and soothing to the senses. So fresh, so tactile, and simply a joy to taste.
